Steady Salmon Fishing on the Feather River and Sacramento River

Feather River

Bank fishing on the Feather River at the wall of the Oroville Outlet Hole has been producing fish. Beads being thrown are the preferred method to produce.

Trolling spinners near the Gridley boat ramp can also produce fish as well. Silvertron and Blue Fox seem to work the best.

While salmon are being caught steadily on the Feather River, because of the low and clear water, the bite on the Feather River takes some work to get fish and can be tough.

Sacramento River

The Sacramento River is producing better numbers of King salmon and is producing quality fish. A wide variety of tactics are working to produce fish. Top producers seem to be trolling spinners, sardine-wrapped Brad’s Killer Fish, and roe.

Fishing from Verona to Redding seem to all be producing equally, with one area not really producing more than another. Pick your section of river to fish, fish it thoroughly, and you should be rewarded with a few quality fish.
